The Online Voting Framework Project is implemented on the PHP platform using the MySQL database as the back end. Internet Voting is a web-based voting system that lets you navigate the elections quickly and safely. This polling system can be used for casting ballots in college elections, etc. In this scheme, the electors do not have to go to the polling booth to vote. They will use their machine to vote.

There is a database held in which all the names of the electors and their full details are kept. The machine administrator signs the voters by actually filling out the registration form to register the voters. After registration, the elector is given a hidden voter ID that he/she can use to log in to the system and cast his/her vote. If invalid/wrong information is given, the individual is not registered to vote. After the user has successfully authenticated, a connection is sent to their respective e-mail IDs. The relation is the secret to trigger the user’s account. The account will be activated only after the user clicks on the page. The site will be activated only on the day of the vote. When the user signs in, they will be presented with a One Time Password (OTP) that must be entered by the user before casting a vote. After casting their respective ballots, the password will be lost. The receipt of the vote will be sent to the recipient from their respective e-mail IDs. The benefit of internet voting is that electors have the option to vote in their own free time, and there is decreased congestion. It also minimizes errors in the counting of ballots. Individual votes are submitted in a database and can be asked to find out which candidate has the largest number of votes for a given post.
